Helping One Independent Woman Stay Afloat
There’s a quiet kind of shame that comes with admitting life has become too heavy to carry alone.
I’m a single woman in my 50s with no partner to lean on and no one quietly stepping in when life takes an unexpected turn.
If you’ve never had to choose which bill gets paid this month and which one has to wait, I hope you never do. It’s exhausting. Every day becomes a series of calculations, compromises and difficult decisions. You smile when people ask how you’re doing, but inside you’re wondering how much longer you can keep holding everything together.
I’ve spent most of my life believing that strength meant never asking for help. I’m beginning to realize that sometimes strength is trusting others enough to say, “I can’t do this alone.”
If my story resonates with you, whether you donate or simply keep me in your thoughts and prayers, please know you’ve reminded one independent woman that she isn’t invisible.
