Reporting to the Director of Merchandising, the Merchandise Manager will develop and execute the merchandise plans for the categories assigned to them, namely, Health and Beauty. The Merchandise Manager will be responsible for the leadership of the Buying functions within their merchandise category areas, and is accountable for the financial performance and metrics. The following are the responsibilities and required qualifications.
:Lead Buying team to develop assortment strategies by business to meet The Shopping Channels overall strategic objectives including evaluating and/or developing product lines and sourcing new products.
:Develop financial plans for the assigned business and manage to the Merchandise Financial Planning targets.
:Work in collaboration with internal business partners (Production, Programming, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Care) to ensure that the Value of your product offerings is effectively and accurately communicated to the Customer.
:Negotiate Vendor Agreements ensuring The Shopping Channels standard Terms and Conditions are met. Also included in this negotiation is Marketing support when required.
:Provide leadership, coaching, development of team for succession planning. Provide regular and ongoing feedback to Team.
:Act promptly on opportunities/problems by evaluating, developing and implementing new ideas and solutions.
:Stay current on industry trends and know the marketplace for the assigned categories in order to take a long term strategic perspective; identify trends and nimbly change direction as required. Be aware of new product and category innovations.
:Lead team in building assortments that focus on product excellence and fulfill the Shopping Channels strategy and delivers meaningful value to our Customers. Lead the development and growth strategies for Private Brands within your assigned Categories.
:Develop and nurture strategic alliances with key Vendors to capitalize on the Brand and/or Celebrity.
:Drive accountability of team to meet/exceed Company standards for The Shopping Channels Customer First Attitude program.
:Be responsive to Customer feedback.
:Adhere to all applicable Legislated Health and Safety Regulations , and as mandated in the company policy.
:7 to 10 years of retail merchandise experience with demonstrated financial a en as Buyer/Senior Buyer
:Strong leadership, collaborative and people development skills with proven leadership ability that inspires others to strive for results.
:Experience in training, development and coaching of others.
:Well:developed negotiation and vendor relationship skills.
:Strategic business thinker who is results oriented.
:Innovative and strong creative problem solving skills.
:Superior communication skills.
