System engineer TCMS

The Train Control and Management System (TCMS) Group is a team of 80 people with 20 years of experience in developing embedded systems for trains and metros. The TCMS Group is composed mainly of engineers. Its responsibilities cover diagnostic, audiovisual, communication and video surveillance systems for trains and metros. The Group manages the train network, the fleet management system, and train communication with the control center. The TCMS Bombardier group has its own research and development team along with its own equipment testing and simulation laboratories to ensure continuous product improvement.
Based in Saint Bruno, Quebec, under the supervision of the Project Engineer and/or the TCMS Manager, you will work closely with colleagues to design, develop and test the TCMS, which is used to support the operation and maintenance of metros and trains.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will facilitate the development and integration process of the TCMS jointly with various stakeholders, such as suppliers, designers and engineering departments.
You will work in a dynamic and professional environment fosters teamwork and uses formal development processes. You will contribute to any other activity or project according to project requirements.
In your role you will:
: Based on requirements, the specifications of internal or external clients, and in compliance with mandatory standards, performs complete and detailed studies, drafts technical do ents, approves technical drawings and carries out mandates assigned by the Project Engineer and/or the TCMS Manager;
: Participates in technical do ent reviews;
: Prepare system do ents for submission to the customers and suppliers;
: Responsible to meet the reuse requirements throughout projects;
: Support the vehicle Functional Integrator for TCMS functionality;
: Support the Engineering Project Office during design reviews with the customer;
: Responsible for sub:system integration (mechanical, electrical, and functional) and execution of vehicle engineering tests;
: Generate the test procedures for system integration and validation. Conduct the validation and integration tests;
: Support System Qualification and Field Engineering activities toward commissioning of the trains;
: Support the Supply Management group for supplier technical questions and issues;
: Briefly assesses manufacturing costs to steer the development of assigned projects;
: Performs any other function:related task.
As our ideal candidate:
: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, software engineering or equivalent;
: Ideally a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
: Bilingual (English and , and written);
: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience;
: Experience in systems engineering and product development;
: Knowledge of the electrical features of systems;
: Knowledge of networking and software deployment in an industrial context;
: Team player and proficient communicator;
: Ease for multi:tasking.
NOTE: The in bent of this position must be able to travel in Canada, US and Europe.
