PeaceHealth has an exciting opportunity to join our Ketchikan Emergency Department as a RN Inpatient.
This position is 36 hrs/wk Night shift.
The Emergency Staff RN is responsible for the triage, assessment of the patient, both the initial and ongoing, appropriate do entation, ysis/diagnosis, planning, evaluation and coordinating the intervention of care on emergency patients and their discharge. The ER RN assists in coordinating activities to assure optimal patient care and maximum use of resources available. The ER RN also assists with Employee Health and Emergency Preparedness (Disaster). The RN is accountable for his/her own actions, functions autonomously and exercises authority to the extent his/her knowledge skills and role allow within the institution and the State of Alaska Nurse Practice Act. Reports to: ER Nurse Manager or designee.
: Delegates, assists, prioritize, anticipates, requests and accepts guidance and assistance from others to assure delivery of care in a safe and timely manner. Must have cooperative working skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families and staff. Identifies problem solving within authority and ability; promptly (within shift) notifies supervisor of situation beyond scope of authority. Does not attempt to do procedures for which he/she is not qualified.
: The Registered Nurse is legally responsible and accountible for assessing the patient care situation and for the decision to delegate. The RN is expected to monitor the care provided and evaluate the outcomeof care as the supervisory person. The RN remains accountable for the acts, which are delegated.
: Assists with the development and implements patient specific care plans as required by unit.
: Addresses age:specific needs of individual patients. Able to demonstrate knowledge of and the ability age:specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patients needs
