We have an opening for an HSE Advisor. The prime objective of this position is to develop and implement systems to control hazards in the workplace and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation. This position reports to the Manager of Environment, Health and Safety.
In your role, you will:
: Establish and implement procedures to support the environment, health and safety management system;
: Evaluate the effectiveness of the management system and implement modifications when required to reflect changing workplace conditions or comply with new legislation;
: Evaluate health and safety hazards and prepare written reports that include recommendations relating to control measures;
: Conduct ergonomic assessments in both office and production environments;
: Develop and deliver environment, health and safety training programs;
As our ideal candidate,
: You have a university degree in science or engineering with training in ergonomics, kinesiology or human factors;
: You have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, ergonomic practices and work task ysis;
: You have knowledge of case management;
: You have a minimum of three (3) years work experience in a manufacturing environment;
: You have the ability to work independently in a fast paced work setting;
: You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
: You have a Joint Health and Safety Committee member certification is an asset.
