Responsible for all aspects of MicroStrategy Administration functions for projects, servers, user administration and security administration for BI projects. Also be able to support and troubleshoot Tableau projects/reports.
:Maintain project schemas across environments.
:Administer the change management process by promoting projects and objects through the various environments.
:Educate report developers with report development standards and define and enforce the standards during MicroStrategy Object promotions and for Tableau
:Manage, install, configure and maintain MicroStrategy and Tableau software releases; conduct ysis for new releases/upgrades and make recommendations as appropriate.
:Perform and schedule software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
:Determine priorities and define solution : what should be done and how to do it. This is applicable to projects/reports developed by internal and external development teams.
:Serve as a technical expert providing input to application design regarding environment, tuning, and administration requirements.
:Support MicroStrategy systems and Tableau and related infrastructures by resolving escalated and technically complex trouble tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
:May provide direction and guidance to less senior systems administrators to assist them in their role and understanding of more complex systems administration.
:Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
:Maintain optimal performance of the application by conducting performance monitoring and tuning activities; utilize knowledge of best practices and industry standards to make recommendations regarding performance.
:Establish user security profiles and application security model.
:Maintain and increase technical knowledge by attending workshops and participating in professional development activities.
:Complete do entation of the tool and associated processes as required.
:Provide on:call 24×7 Production support as needed, on rotation
Requirements for this exceptional career opportunity:
:A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related degree focus.
:5+ years of hands:on administration experience and proficient with MicroStrategy 9.x including Administrator, Server support, I:cubes, Web I:server, Desktop, Architect, Enterprise Manager in Windows and/or UNIX environments and MicroStrategy mobile technology.
:Experience in Tableau Administration and system setup.
:Experience in other reporting tools (Oracle, SAP Business Objects, Jasper) required.
:3+ years hands:on experience working a large telecommunication environment.
:Must possess the ability to communicate well with others (both internal and external) to perform work in a team environment, and act as a resource for less experienced systems administrators.
:Superior Client facing and communication skills
:Expertise in understanding business requirements and ability to develop or custom build reports.
:Ability to research solutions to various business and technical problems, evaluate alternatives and be able to present recommendations and justifications to management. Typically considers many different options or procedures when solving problems
