Our Canadian Actuarial, Rewards and ytics (ARA) team is part of Deloittes worldwide actuarial network, which includes over 1 000 actuarial professionals working in 43 countries. ARA is part of Deloittes Assurance and Advisory practice which provides a range of services including auditing and consulting services.

You will be providing actuarial audit and business advisory/consulting support to clients in the Insurance industry, mainly Life and Health. Your work will span different aspects and will focus on actuarial and other topics related to insurance advisory services. You will assist audit teams in assessing, managing, and controlling risks. You will also assist clients in realizing various actuarial valuations, estimates and reports. Projects may include:
:Reviewing/recalculating actuarial liabilities
:Testing of various models (valuation, capital and other models)
:Testing of the design and implementation of controls
: yzing experience study results and models
:Reviewing various reports
:Researching and writing reports
:Assisting in relation to various consulting engagements
:Staying abreast of technical and industry developments in various areas, including AXIS software functionalities
:Working on a variety of projects, including: actuarial modernization, capital modelling, IFRS 4 Phase II, etc.
:Actively mentor and coach team members to their highest potential
:Assist in the recruitment and training of actuarial ysts
External Posting Qualifications 13;
:A Bachelors degree specializing in actuarial sciences/mathematics;
:Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA) or equivalent;
:Approximately 5 years of relevant experience
:Ability to learn, apply and communicate actuarial concepts and ideas
:Ability to synthetize quantitative ysis and effectively relay this information to others
:Superior research, financial ysis, ytical and problem:solving skills
:Demonstrated interest in Life and Health Insurance
:Demonstrated capabilities in team work and leadership
:Effective listening skills and attention to detail
:Strong written and verbal communication skills ( and English)
:Strong computer skills : Microsoft Office, Internet search tools, AXIS, etc.
:Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
