The Shopping Channel is looking for a Styling Supervisor to work in our TV Sales Department. The chosen individual will manage the images of all on:air talent, ensuring that the overall aesthetic is clean, modern, and polished.
Manages the complete styling of several priority shows each month. This includes:
:Works with external partners to determine the styling needs of each show and to ensure products are showcased in the most effective and appealing fashion for all on:air shows.
:Outfit coordination for on:air talent.
:Styles photo:shoots for web images.
:Works with the TSC programming team to suggest outfit and accessory coordination.
:Anticipates and reacts to hosts, producers, guests, and vendor requests.
Oversees All On:Air Talent
:Works with Manager of Scenic and Styling to oversee the overall aesthetic of all on:air talent (hosts, guests, models), ensuring TSC style guide is adhered to.
:Works with each host to establish a framework to follow that best suits their individual style : while respecting the established style guide. This includes wardrobe selection, hair, make up and nail guidance.
:Ensures that all on:air talent look polished and professional before going to air.
:Monitors and manages each hosts wardrobe and personal upkeep budget.
:Liaises with TV Sales and Programming co:ordinator to ensure host fashion and jewellery samples received are worn by hosts in an aspirational manner.
Crafts a defined aesthetic for TSC personas
:Stays current on fashion trends and media in order to ensure our talent is successfully dressed.
:Creates literature for hosts and guests with seasonal suggestions for their hair, makeup, and wardrobe.
:University Degree or College Diploma in Applied Arts and Visual Arts
:Previous experience (minimum 3 years) in styling or design
:Basic sewing skills are preferred.
:Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
:Ability to work well in team environment
:Ability to collaborate with a number of internal and external groups
:Ability to work effectively in high:pressure situations
:Superior time management skills
:Ability to maintain a positive, productive and organized environment
:Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
:Familiarities of protocol in live studio environment also an asset
:Familiarity with The Shopping Channel and/or retail environment an asset
:Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
:Ability to illustrate/draft concepts and designs manually or digitally
:Sense of style and/or creative eye for design.
:Presentation of a portfolio is an asset
The selected candidate is required to provide two business references as well as successfully complete a criminal background check.
