Reporting to the Director of National Executive Communications, and working in close collaboration with the Chief of Staff for the Office of the Managing Partner and Chief Executive, the Manager of Executive Communications provides dedicated communications support to the Office of the Managing Partner and Chief Executive. The successful candidate will work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to plan, research, and deliver innovative, strategic communications, as well as manage the long-term planning and related requirements in support of this key internal client.
This hands-on role requires exceptional writing and editing skills, a proven track record of producing high-quality materials, and a tireless attention to detail. Essential to the role is the ability to plan for and managemultiple deliverables at once, working collaboratively with a broad range of senior stakeholders within the firm and Deloitte’s global network, as well aswith clients and partners in the market.
-Plan, research, and write high-quality communications deliverables for the Office of the Managing Partner and Chief Executive, including:
-Speaking notes/talking points
-Questions and answers
-Develop materials that ring with clarity and are adapted as required by specific audiences and channels
-Developthemes, metaphors, written imagery, and approaches that transform information into engaging content
-Learn to write and edit in the voice, style, and tone of Managing Partner & Chief Executive communications
-Edit materialsprepared by others, such as client briefings, for quality control and to ensurethey align with our corporate writing style (Deloitte Voice)
-Consult with stakeholders and other team members to clearly define requirements and deliverexpected results; work with subject matter experts and other members of the Leadership Team to develop content for Managing Partner and Chief Executive deliverables, as well as with members of Marketing and Sales Support for external marketing and communications activities (media requests, news release quotes, speeches)
-Follow and enforce rigorous processes to allow for the stakeholder reviews, translation, and other interim steps required to complete deliverables ontime, every time
-Manage the delivery/execution of communications pieces from start to finish, including (depending on the project) coordinating translation, arranging for content to be posted to our intranet portals, populating emailtemplates, providing final do ents to stakeholders
-Be fully aware of the MP&CE’s calendar several months ahead at any given time, maintaining a rolling list of required deliverables and planning ahead
-Continuallymeasure the effectiveness of communications activities and seek ways to improveand innovate
External Posting Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field (or equivalent).
-Minimum 7 years’ experience in communications, media relations, journalism, or related field. Experience in professional services or business-to-business environment is an asset.
-Exceptional English writing and editorial skills, with a proven track record across a variety of audiences and channels.
-Experience working in a political or business environment a strong asset.
-Experience with communications campaigns with demonstrable results ineminence building and driving awareness.
-Ability to generate ideas and approaches for effective delivery of content across multi-disciplinary channels.
-A drive to tell the story, identifying and then translating complex or abstract ideas into clear and engaging communication; this requires a demonstrated ability to quickly understand and distill complex information, content and themes into clear, concise content, adapted to suit a variety of target audiences.
-Demonstrated project management experience and ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently. Exemplary, proactive time management and organizations skills required. Strong sense of initiative and creativity, plus ability to prioritize commitments in line with firm priorities.
-Demonstrated experience dealing with highly confidential information and sensitive issues.
-Some leadership communications and ghost-writing experience is desirable.
-Advanced skills working with Microsoft Office applications
-Fully fluent in English.
