What is the opportunity?
The RBC Royal Bank Mid:Market M and A Group is seeking an yst to support the team in Montreal, and to support team initiatives across Canada. The Mid Market M and A team is a strategically important business unit that provides a value added services offering. The yst will support the Associate, Vice President and Director in the preparation of presentations, research materials, proposals, financial models and transaction do entation.
This position is ideally suited for a candidate seeking investment banking experience with entrepreneurial clients. Mandates include the sale of privately owned businesses and noncore divisions, acquisitions, shareholder and management buyouts and capital advisory services. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years postgraduate experience in financial services with a deep knowledge of financial accounting and a high proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
What will you do?
:Part of a national Mid:Market M and A team, supporting team based in Montreal and other offices;
:Conduct thorough research on companies and industries and delivery of concise summaries;
:Assist in preparation of internal and external marketing materials;
:Support team in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clients;
:Prepare integrated financial models to support ysis in proposals and transaction do ents; and
:Under direction of team members, follow up and engage with RBC partners including Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, and Wealth Management.
What do you need to succeed?
:Undergraduate degree with a focus in Finance or Accounting;
:Minimum two years of work experience in financial services including M and A, investment banking, corporate finance, corporate strategy and/or assurance;
:Solid understanding of cash flow, financial modelling and business valuation;
:Strong computer literacy with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel;
:Excellent research skills and ability to manage complex concepts;
:Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work creatively and effectively within a team environment under time constraints;
:Excellent English and written and communication skills;
:Professional rigor and detail:oriented, and
:Knowledge of and interest in business community and financial markets.
Nice to have:
:CPA, CA, CFA, CBV, MBA or other relevant professional certification.
