As the Finance Director you will have a seat at the executive table and influence how our finances are appropriately managed while ensuring profitability. The Director of Finance is responsible for:
:Leading all finance, accounting, key business decision support matters and billing operations for the Corporation and its subsidiaries.
:Directing the development and implementation of financial plans, policies, procedures, controls and reporting to facilitate the organization in optimizing returns on investment and profitability.
:Leading the organization to ensure company assets are protected, risks are minimized and financial methodologies and measurement tools are in place to allow effective management of the various business units and results in line with expected business performance.
:Keeping the Company abreast of IFRS and other evolving financial developments and issues as well as developing strategies and tactics to ensure compliance with changing requirements.
:Administering an annual operating expense budget of approximately 4.5M per annum and is responsible for monitoring net assets of approximately 350M.
:Providing leadership support to the following direct reports:
:Manager, Business Decision Support
:Manager, Finance and Payroll
:Associate Director, Accounting
:Associate Director, Billing
The chops you must have (Aka critical competencies)::a name_GoBack::/h3:
:Bachelors degree complemented by a recognized C.P.A accounting designation.
:Seven (7) years of appropriate and applicable work experience.
: e (5) years of staff management experience at the professional level.
:Well versed in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS, as well as other technical aspects of accounting and corporate taxation.
:Proficient with accounting systems and processes, preferably with J.D.Edwards and/or SAP financial systems.
:Must be an excellent negotiator, problem solver, relationship builder and strategic thinker.
:Strong ytical, interpersonal, planning, communication, and staff management skills are critical.
:Knowledge of the telecommunications industry would be an asset.
