The Senior Human Resources Consultant implements the organizations human resources strategy so that the organization attracts, manages, develops and retains the employees it needs to achieve its current and future business objectives.
:Work closely with the Divisional HR Managerand partner with local management to champion employee loyalty and to support Purolators values
:Provide subject matter expertise and support to Client Group (Operations,Retail, Fleet, Loss Prevention) with respect to all HR related matters.
:Responsible for providing proactive employee/labour relations, contract interpretation and administration, grievance handling and arbitration preparation.
:Coach and council managers regarding HR related inquiries, and provide accurate interpretation and compliance to legislation and HR policies and procedures.
:Partnering with managers to resolve employee relations issues, including performance management, progressive discipline, and workplace investigations as required
:Responsible for workforce planning, talent management, performance management
:Provide status updates to Divisional HR Manager and Business Partners on regional issues and initiatives
:Assist in developing and facilitating training and recruitment and selection initiatives
:Promote employee equity and diversity
:Proactively promote a safe, positive, and healthy workplace for all employees.
:Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings
:Other duties as assigned
:HR related degree/diploma
:5 : 7 years of progressive experience in an operational and strategic human resources role combined with experience working in both unionized and non:unionized environments.
:Demonstrated expertise in employee and labour relations including contract interpretation, mediation, dispute resolution and workplace investigation skills
:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
:Demonstrates high energy, internal motivation
:Approachable, supportive, visible HR partner
:Skilled, persuasive communicator, both verbally and in writing
:Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
:Resourceful, flexible, innovative
:Computer literate (MS Office)

Reports to: Human Resources Manager, Ontario Hubs and Transportation
